Set flush into a lawn or garden bed, this ground light sits low enough that feet, wheelbarrows and mowers pass straight over it, then throws its glow upward into planting, textured walls and fences after dark. The recessed, pared-back housing suits contemporary and minimalist gardens where nothing should break the ground line. Fully sealed against rain and sprinklers, it copes with beds that stay properly soaked, and comes in 30, 40 or 60 centimetre sizes to scale the fitting to the space. Group two or three along a border, or one at the base of each tree, for a balanced result rather than a runway effect.
