A shade in black or white iron hangs from a wooden bracket by a short leather strap, so the light swings slightly and looks as if it were hung there by hand. The mix of timber, metal and leather sits naturally in a Scandinavian, rustic or mid-century bedroom and works on either side of a bed or above a hallway bench. The downward shade throws a focused pool of light for reading, the wooden mount adds warmth to a plain wall, and the strap can be swapped for a longer one if you want the shade to hang lower.
