Wilhelm Bauhaus Table Lamp

Simple stacked volumes in glass give this table lamp its Bauhaus bones, a shape built from clear proportion rather than decoration, and glass makes it read lighter than the same form would in metal. With no fabric shade in the way, the whole body glows once switched on, casting a warm pool of light across a console or sideboard rather than lighting the whole room. It has enough quiet presence to anchor a room on its own, the kind of piece a scheme tends to arrange itself around. It suits Nordic, mid-century and plain contemporary interiors, and needs only an occasional wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
