Maeve gives a hallway one place for a coat, a tote and the keys, solving most of the entryway pile-up with a single strip of solid oak rather than veneer. Turned pegs and visible grain suit Nordic entries, and mounting flat to the wall means it works in narrow flats and hallways where a coat stand would be in the way. It ages well rather than badly. Two fixings and a spirit level, ideally into a stud, have it fitted and holding heavy winter coats without flexing in about ten minutes. Dust it and feed the oak with furniture oil once a year to keep the grain fresh.
